Mālama Honua is a class that will teach us about taking care of our land and planet earth, learning how to live sustainably, and getting more in tuned with our Hawaiian ancestors. We will develop our observation and research skills while conducting experiments. We will study and become more in tuned with our communities through sustainability, while also creating a community in our own class. We will study our ancestors in a modern way (using technology) through sustainability, navigation and hands on learning. Some possible topics of sustainability we will discuss are; land, water, food, etc.. This course will help better me as a Hawaiian scientist, while learning how to view the world through the eyes of my kūpuna, thus helping me learn and discover more about myself.
